When it's May....When it's May...

WOW. So since I wrote last, I got a full time job, had a little "bug problem" at my apartment, and graduated college! It's a lot. And frankly, it's been overwhelming. Not the graduating college thing...but just dealing with everything else!

It's funny how relationships teach you so much about yourself. It's the most humbling thing. I have learned that I have a really hard time just enjoying the present now....I get so caught up in the future and obsessing over things that I have more than enough time to obsess about. It can drive me crazy, and it's really hard to turn all of those things over to God. I found myself a couple of weeks ago all worked up over something I didn't have any control over...silly megan.

Last night was great--a boss of mine who shall remain nameless due to this being on the internet, took some grad employees out for drinks. Siobhan came and unfortunately (or fortunately) for us, our ONE martini (which was made incredibly strong!!!) got us both pretty out of it. It was slightly hysterical only because Siobhan and I work and work and work and work and rarely get the opportunity to just chill but sitll...hilarious.

Anxiety is a funny thing. Without going into much detail, I have had a lot of anxiety this month over something that is literally no bigger than the tip of my fingernail. But...it's still there. It's been a lot of sleepless nights, a lot of tears (and a lot of comforting on my boyfriend's part), and a lot of lights being on all night.

The show I'm in is up and running...and to be perfectly honest...it's really good. Vocally, it's my favorite show I've gotten to be a part of, and every single person in the cast is truly talented. It's great--and honestly, probably one of the only things getting me through all of this craziness! lol

Well...that is enough rambling at 5AM...(insomnia has become my friend)...

Can't help lovin that man of mine...

At the risk of being "that girl", I've decided that the man in my life needs a special mention in this blog of mine. This week was hard. I need a change in some capacity. I cannot wait to graduate school (even though I know I'll miss it). Work and school took its toll on me. Only 13 days to go.
But amidst this crazy week full of tears and yawns, one thing remained consistent. Love. My friends and family were incredibly supportive at the tear-filled phone calls that I gave (whoops) and the advice I needed. But the real trooper this week was John. He was patient, loving, and encouraging. But that's how he is. I could not be more blessed because I have a wonderful man who loves me even when I am "princess tears a lot" and exhausted and cranky. I could not be more lucky and I could not be more happy. He makes me a better person everyday and calms me down in a way no one else can. So, this is for john: love you baby. thank you for this week :)

Grateful.

I haven't posted in a year. I simply forgot my password, forgot what email I used to log in, and just gave up.

So much has happened in the last year. My life is great. No complaints. God threw a bunch of stuff my way--a wonderful man, a new direction, work work work, and more patience. It's been crazy. But it's been wonderful at the same time, I love it :)

I was reading my friend Dan's blog about how he wonders about the life he might have had had he stayed at a certain college, etc. Of course, as an almost graduate, I'm sure many people think I'm freaking out about my life etc...but I'm actually not. I know what I want. I know that it's ok to not have everything in my completely planned out. It's really great to get to that point when you know that you have no need to completely stress. It could be because my rent is low. It could be because John calms me down. It could just be that I just want to graduate--5 years of college has just exhausted me. Or it could be that the weather is warm and beautiful. I dont know. But here I am, writing from a peaceful place :)

Many the miles,

Someplace Higher...

I had a good talk with one of my best friends this morning. She's known me since I was about 5 years old and if anyone knows about the inner workings of my brain and heart, it's most definitly her. She can tell when I'm sailing through life or just inching through it, praying to get by. It was really refreshing to hear about her summer. Sometimes I feel so caught up in the performance aspect of my life that sometimes I dont stop and think about how big the world really is. Dont get me wrong, I love love love where my life is right now... But My friend goes to Africa and to Poland and the kids she talks to there arent focused on what part they're gonna get next semester or the dress they're wearing to next weeks party--those kids are thinking about where they're next meal is coming from, and where they're going to sleep tonight. And so, in listening to her talk about her summer, realization hits me; my goal in life is to be able to stand on a stage and entertain people, to make them forget their hardships, the things they struggle with, and make them smile and care and feel for a particular story--and in a way, my friend's purpose is that same. She however doesnt need approval by an audition or a cast list, she gets it from someplace higher.

"Shout the Piece of My Caribou Summer"

so "piece of my heart" has ended--what an amazing show. I wish more people could have seen it but it was truly one of the best casts I've gotten to work with. things do happen for a reason and there was definitly a reason I didn't get Dollywood!

Now onto "Shout"--I could feel my voice yesterday saying, "megan...I'm tired!" the entire rehearsal...but thankfully I have this weekend off before rehearsals start getting crazy. It's going to be really cute though--we had dialect coaching yesterday which went surprisingly well! (who would have thought?)

The last time I wrote I didn't know where I would be working this summer. Now I'm a barista at Caribou in Cincinnati...and I love it! That combined with babysitting and rehearsals, I have no life! (oh well, still happy :) )

In other news...I've picked up Gary (my guitar) again...and began my journey to hopefully trying to write a little? We'll see how that goes! I also started the Julia Cameron book "The Artists Way"--everyone raves about it, so I figured I would try it for this summer.

not much else to report, except for a MOUSE that lives in the room next to me...I can hear him squeaking and scurrying about..I keep hoping one of the cats that live in this house will take care of him...ew.

Sometimes you just have those days...

Did you ever feel like everything is too good to be true?

That's cause it is.

Eh, no. I take it back--everything has a plan blah blah blah and while I know this to be true...it doesn't make today feel any better. you see, i have summer plans, lots of summer plans. And 1 out of my 4 major plans completely fell through today. Am I a little discouraged? Yup. Am I nervous? You bet.

Do I need to trust that everything is going to work itself out?
Yup.

many the miles, and cross your fingers for me...
