the use of the word "YAY"
YAY--haha....seriously though, I wonder how many times I've used that word in this blog??
Which is good, except for the fact that I'm terribly embarressed due to the eeyore story and the pictures that went with that story...lol
So yea. Not doing anything for the day--just resting my voice before auditions on Saturday...yikes.

A Blog on...Absolutely Nothing.
Well, I'm getting ready for an audition on Saturday (that may be the death of me lol). When I was younger, my mom used to take note of the fact that I'm not as happy during those periods of time that shows were over etc.
Anyway--just writing...Thanksgiving was this past weekend--it was good...christmas is almost here! It MUST snow at nku. MUST. Because I want to sit outside with my scarf and gloves with my hot tea and watch. Nerdy, I know, but it makes me happy so oh well.

Life...
There's plenty of things running through my head; wondering about regret, hope, life, happiness, being hurt...god, this would make a great movie. I just wish I knew how the movie ended.
I'm currently sitting in Race/Gender drama lit right now...watching "Rent" (I know, right?)

Weekend of FUN.
We did 2 full runs of "Angels" --they seemed to go pretty well...I cant believe we open in a week!
Anyway--so...I figure I'm going to just direct everyone to Facebook to read my note about my very "special" Friday night. Needless to say, I will never ever ever take one of my roommates anywhere EVER again. All I'm gonna say on this blog is....2 HOURS. 2 HOURS.
But Saturday made up for the sucky Friday. Saturday I pretty much stayed in my pjs til 2 pm....which was wonderful b/c I cannot remember the last time I did that! Trent came by my apartment and asked if I wanted to help him find a costume for the costume/Halloween party he was going to that night. We ended up going to the Florence mall...buying clothes that were not part of the costume but oh well...it was fun. We went to Charlotte Russe and I got 2 very cute tops...yay for shopping. After that, we had the urge to go to Barnes and Nobles and check out the theatre section like good little theatre majors...and speak in our best cockney british accents the whole time....anyway, so we decided that since that Barnes and Nobles had pretty much nothing, we really wanted to go to the Newport B & N on the Levy...and we did. It is 2 stories and has everything! It was amazing! Trent got a bunch of new movies and I browsed around like a happy kid. Then we went to Michaels and Hobby Lobby...where Trent got his costume to be...SUPER QUEER. He had pink tights, tutu, flowery headband...it was pretty hilarious. I definitly had a video and 2 pics to put up. Then we had dinner at Panera (YUM) and went back to campus.
My friend Chris who does drag invited me to go with him to a club to support one of our other friends (with another one of our friends too) and so I showered and got ready for that. Our friend from Acting1 (Drew) was making his drag queen debut performance and we went to watch the show--which was by far one of the funniest things I have ever seen! Chris was in his outfit, and he kept flipping his hair--it was great! The hostess of the night kept picking on this poor straight guy in front of us with his girlfriend...Matilda. I seriously thought she was gonna cry at one point lol Drew was fabulous and we had a good time. I think he really liked it that we came...we even saw one of our teachers that came out to support him!--AWKWARD. So yea. Lauren and I stuck by Chris the whole time we were there--I was so nervous that the hostess was going to come over and pick on us b/c we're straight! (she was doing that to all the straight people in the audience). So...fun times!
After that we went by one of the theatre parties only to find that they were all sitting in the dark b/c they thought they heard the cops--so we left quickly (considering we had been there for 2 minutes we were not about to stick around to find out if the cops were actually around!). Eventually we went back to campus and I went to sleep.
So yea. I had a blast.
Today is completely devoted to "Angels"--I am completely memorized and everything (for about a week now!), but I'm looking over the notes we got on Thursday and really re-working the stuff I got notes on. I want to do really well in this---it's my first thing at NKU, and I am so happy I get to play this part. So anyway....aside from "Angels", I think I'm getting a little sick. Not gonna lie, I'm not feeling the greatest, but I know what to do--i have to not drink any tea right now--which is HARD b/c that's all I have right now! But I cannot get sick this close to the show's run, so I'm saying NO to one of my favorite things in the world...tea.
We have tech tonight! YAY!

Fall Break...
Kaitlyn still says she has nothing to post about, but oh well...(I'm gonna make her post something when "Parade" starts up)
Anyway--my burn is better, it's almost completely healed...which means I get to suffer in ballet again lol
The Friday before fall break I had 3 midterms back to back (within 10 minutes of each other) and then a 5 hour rehearsal...I was pretty beat. So...yay for Fall Break and getting to sleep!
Fall Break was today and yesterday in addition to the weekend--I went home. It was good, I got to work on lines (I'm completely off-book!!! YAY!!!)and relax (well, not so much). Me and KP had "Hot Tea Monday" on Monday during her break between classes and I got to babysit 2 very adorable kids. Today I did laundry, watched some TV, and finished my paper due on Wednesday--I seriously do not understand professors that give homework over fall break, that's just plain MEAN. But I did get to see my family and watch some "Friends" with my mom...so it was all good.
Anyway--not much to report: "Angels in America" is going great--we open in 2 weeks. Cant wait and am nervous at the same time.
And now onto an entirely different subject:
For all of my good friends that read this, cross your fingers for me. I cant say what it's about yet, but cross those fingers and send good thoughts. Hopefully I'll get to write about what you're crossing your fingers for very soon.
And on yet another different note:
I had pizza tonight (for the first time in a while) and it definitly did not settle very well. I'm not feeling so good. yuck.
Oh yea, and "Pushing Daisies" is an amazing show. Yay for watching shows online!

my hairdryer and the ER
On friday night, i went to a few parties and came back to my dorm room, i was really sleepy and tired and decided to shower. I then blow-dryed my hair. i was so tired that i set my blowdryer next to my leg and forgot about it and fell asleep.
When I woke up the next morning i had a huge nasty red blister on my shin--it looked awful and stung a little but i didnt think much of it, just a "wow that was stupid of me" thing.
On Saturday, it started getting puss coming from it.
On Sunday, a cherry-red ring started to form around the area that had now turned into a blister-hole that was now bright red with white stuff.
Today, it started to HURT. The cherry-red color had deepened and it stung more than ever. It was so infected.
I finally called my mom who had me call the 24/7 insurance-provided nurse hotline. I spoke with the nurse for a little while who was sooo nice and told me that it was possible i had either a very severe 2nd degree burn or a possible 3rd degree burn. She told me to go to the ER immediately.
I started bawling. My shin was killing me and it was looking worse and worse. The lady on the phone kept comforting me being like, "megan, it's going to be okay--please go to the ER, they'll make it better". I felt about 4 years old, especially when i called my mom and said, "Mommy I wish you were here".
My friend Ruth went with me to the ER while I freaked out. I hate hospitals and I hate gross stuff. This was definitly a mixture of the 2.
The nurses at the hospital couldnt believe a hairdryer could have caused what looked like I had stabbed myself with a curling iron or something--they were very nice though. Finally, the dr. came back (he was sooo weird) and told me it was a severe 2nd degree burn and that he was giving me antibiotics and pain-killers and that I should see my family doctor in a few days. He cleaned some of it out. I made sure to mention that ballet class the next morning would be an issue seeing as this was on my shin and i was in pain. They put a ton of medicine on it and a huge ace bandage and gave me a few perscriptions and then told me to keep it elevated for a while. AND...they put on the form that I shouldnt go to ballet the next morning--go ER nurses/doctors!
So yea. Now I have a big ace bandage on my leg I'm supposed to put stuff on like 3 times a day, I get to go to Kroger tommorow and fill like 2 perscriptions for pain and for me to heal, and on top of that, IT HURTS.
And all b/c of my damn hairdryer.
geez.

here's a little pic to show you what a 2nd degree burn looks like medically from the inside.

an update to the neglected blog.
Last week was...interesting. Some roommate drama, an almost forgotten rehearsal...but now it's all good!
So Kaitlyn has started "Parade" and I'm in the middle of "Angels in America"--theatre theatre for everyone! "Angels" is going well--I really love it, we ran Act1 last night. We open in about a month-yay!
SO...an update, I have a monologue in "SpoonRiver Anthology" that I have to perform in Acting class on Thursday. I pull a Jerry Springer and throw a chair...it's lots of fun lol I play a crazy pregnant woman who kills herself with morphine and then goes to heaven.
I started voice lessons last week with my new voice teacher here--I was sooo nervous before it! But I'm really happy with the songs I'm going to be singing in there and I really like my voice teacher--he had me do Plies to get to my high notes! It was fun---now in ballet class I want to sing! I have to perform "Once Upon a Dream" from "Jekyll and Hyde" next week for him.
My friend Derek (Andrew) and I (Celia) decided to do a video blog for Andrew Keenan-Bolger's video response contest this past weekend, it was so much fun! We went to downtown Cincy in Clifton and went to Urban Outfitters, then to Starbucks, back to campus and....well, I'm just going to upload it here when it's done. Unfortunately we cant enter the contest b/c derek's computer wouldnt let him load it :(
I'm going to sound like a complete Broadway-nerd, but I just want to remind anyone who reads this that "Legally Blonde the Musical" is going to be aired this Saturday at 1pm on MTV...me and people here are excited to see it!
Well...back to reading For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Not Enuf, for Race/Gender drama lit class! Hope everyone (if anyone reads this lol), is doing well and I hope kaitlyn posts in this soon!)
Oh, and Zach Boone got a blogspot too--here's the link: http://www.zacharyjboone.blogspot.com/

Anyway--not sure when I'll be coming back next--I'm definitly coming back to see "Parade" at CenterStage, I love that show! Kaitlyn is playing Iola Stover and Justin is playin the piano--so everyone come see it! (Kaitlyn, I dont know when this runs so post the dates soon!)
On Friday, we made like 3 videos about many different things....but unfortunately none of them will actually post! BOOO!!!
I sent Zach Boone the link to our blog so we should say something about him on here--Zach is Owl in one of the pics below...and he's currently rehearsing for "West Side Story" at Wright State University...he's playing Riff, he's going to be amazing! KP and I went to see him in "Peter Pan" at Derby Dinner this summer--he thanked Jesus during curtain call just for us. lol

AND we made our first preview video blog entry on kaitlyn's phone...she'll probably post that--DRUNK SCARY MEN!! WE CANT SMOKE--YOU CANT SMOKE WITH VOCAL CHORDS OF STEEL!! AHH!! (you'll understand after you watch the video)

Tommorow, in Acting1 my group is lip-syncing (for a Pass/Fail grade) to "Holding Out for A Hero" from Footloose...complete with choreography by megan hudson. (ok, so I borrowed a little bit from riverstage's footloose, but a lot of the new stuff was me!) So it's dramatic and sexual...ok, maybe not lol. We do have a tough act to follow--another group is doing a complete version of "And I Am Telling You" from DreamGirls, complete with all of the guys being in wigs and sparkly dresses...I mean seriously, how do you top that? You can't.
I had my first "Angels in America" rehearsal today. I thought it went well--I can't wait til we block the Harper/Prior hallucination scene--I think that scene will be my favorite. The one where she's like, "I take Valium, LOTS of Valium" hehe I think we block it tommorow night.
Well, I have to go read "De Donde" for Race/Gender Drama Lit and then try to memorize lines and then study music theory. And I waited til 11:30 pm to do all of these things and I have my 9:25 ballet class tommorow.
busy day.
